2001 Mar 10 – Development:

Along with the enormous amount of work going on behind the scenes in TSH, the recent posting of the proposed F-14 3D cockpit add-on has created a swell of public support for the project.

As simpilots familiar with this project know, one of the main issues holding back further third party expansion of Jane’s F/A-18 is the ability to convert three dimensional shapes into the .3dg format used by Jane’s F/A-18.

Former lead designer of Jane’s F/A-18 C.J. Martin has been quite supportive of the project but due to NDA commitments to his former employer, he is limited in what information can be released.

Fortunately we have learnt more about the process by which three dimensional object make there way into JF18 and as one TSH team member recently said “the haystack just got smaller!”
