2007 Dec 28 – Help Us Test Skipping Video Issues

We know a lot of you have been having problems with video skipping in Jane’s F/A-18. Mario, the one who created the original video patch that was
released with TSHv3 and allowed the creation of new movies, has modified his files in an attempt to eliminate this issue. The new file has fixed our skipping video problems and now it needs more thorough testing in the community.

To test:

1. Download here.
2. Backup your existing /FA-18/F18vid.dll
3. Place the downloaded file in your /FA-18 folder.
4. Start JF-18.

Please test the stock video files (Jane’s intro, stock campaign videos) and well as TSHv3-compatible videos (TSHv3 intro video, Resolute Fury campaign videos)

It’s a very quick test and we’d like some feedback on a variety of systems. Testing on slower CPUs would be especially appreciated. Even if your
video doesn’t skip now we’d like to make sure this new file doesn’t make anything worse. Please post the following below on SimHq or in our forums.

1. Did your JF-18 videos skip before the fix?
2. Do your JF-18 stock videos skip after the fix?
3. Do your JF-18 TSHv3-compatible videos skip after the fix?
4. What is your operating system?
5. What is your video card?
6. What video driver are you using?
