2005 Jun 23 – Ultimate Patch Update

There have been reports of confusion regarding installation procedures for our initial release of the Ultimate Patch. We have updated the readme file and re-uploaded the patch, now version 1.01.

Here are some important points to keep in mind when using the Ultimate Patch from us:

  • You need both the 1.01F patch and TSHv1 installed. You must apply at minimum the Wideview or Higher Resolutions package using the TSHv1 installer.
  • If you are using a TrackIR 3 or a TrackIR 3 Pro, you must use the latest software from Naturalpoint, available here . You must then update your games list so that it includes Jane’s F/A-18. Without an updated games list, your TrackIR 3 or TrackIR 3 Pro will not activate when the simulation is started. If things are working properly, the blue light will come on when you start the sim.
  • If you are using a TrackIR 2 or an original TrackIR, use version 3.13 software, available here . Version 3.13 software can be put into enhanced mode at any time, and the blue light will be on even if the sim is not started. This is normal.
  • The proper installation sequence is:
    1. Retail Jane’s F/A-18
    2. 1.01F Patch
    3. TSHv1 with wideview or higher resolutions
    4. TSHv2 (optional)
    5. Ultimate Patch
    6. Any other add-ons, such as WarfareFix.
  • Deadzones in JF-18 may be need to be larger than in other sims for equivalent view stability.
